The idea of this project was born at the turn of 2023 and 2024. The aim was not only to get the first educational contact for Slovakia, but also to popularize the topic of space, activities in it and to bring life on the ISS closer to the public.
V marci 2024 sme podali prihlášku pre realizáciu kontaktu, v júni sme sa dostali na čakaciu listinu pre udelenie termínu kontaktu a v októbri sme dostali pridelený týždeň, neskôr konkrétny termín kontaktu. Kontakt sa uskutočnil v rámci vedecko-popularizačného podujatia Day in space, ktoré sa konalo 25.01.2025 v priestoroch Prešovskej univerzity v Prešove.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Štefánik mission (the flight of Ivan Bella into space as the first Slovak cosmonaut), as well as the successful request for contact with the ISS crew, the OM25ISS anniversary callsign was issued.
The anniversary callsign is active in the HF, VHF and UHF bands from 1.10.2024 and the licence is issued for a period of one year, until 30.09.2025.
The operation of the station can be provided by club and individual stations from all over Slovakia, which show interest and regardless of whether they are members of SARA (Slovak Amateur Radio Association) or not. The only condition for participation is a worthy representation of the OM callsign and the possibility to send the log of contacts electronically in ADIF format.
